Hi, I’m Kendra. The person behind Kjoywrites. I decided to create this blog not only to help me but to help others.
I’m not always great with expressing myself vocally but my words speak when I’m afraid to do so.
I will be sharing personal experiences, poetry, encouragement and support for those that can’t or haven’t found their voice. I’ve been writing since I was in middle school and I finally found the courage to publish my first poetry book in 2014.
Where reality meets emotions.. Speaking to you through me.

That is amazing that you chose to write out what you could not say.
That is exactly what I am doing. I am in the process of writing a book myself. I too have been writing since 8th grade, not knowing my words had a voice. My goal in my book is to reach young women who have been broken, abused, and abandoned – sharing my personal stories of experience, and letting them know that life doesn’t have to be lived that way, that there is healing, and that life is a journey. Do you have any advice? How long did it take you to write your poetry book? I am almost a year into my book 🙂

My advice would be to express yourself the best way you know how. Everybody won’t like you or even love you because they haven’t come to terms with who they are yet. Don’t be afraid to love and live your life without regret. Any obstacle you face take a lesson from it without hanging on to what could have happened.
The publishing process is a breeze. The editing, typing and putting everything together is the most work to me. It took me a total of 4 or 5 months to finally publish but my poetry goes back years.
Enjoy the journey of publishing and writing there is no deadline on when you need to have it out. Take your time. I’ve been writing book 2 for about a year now so yes these things take time.
Best wishes to you.

You’re welcome. No need to have a platform without actually helping someone else. At least that’s my take. 🙂

Good for you publishing! I started writing when I was 11, and poetry was my first passion. Haven’t written one in a long time, but I wrote one a day from the time I was 15 until I went to college.
You got the follow and the look from me because you answered my comment on the Daily Post today, just so you know 😀

Hello Kendra
Thanks for the follow! How have you been and how’s your blog doing?
I don’t know if you know that I moved my blog to a self-hosted platform. This has prevented me from connecting with WordPress bloggers like I used to. I would still like to remain in contact with your blog. Do you have an RSS feed I can subscribe to?
If you would still like to follow my blog, may I add you to my mailing list? I send out one email per day with all the blogs posted for the day including blogging tips. You can also unsubscribe at any time if you feel you want to stop receiving the emails. If you are happy for me to subscribe you, please send me your email address.
Also, I created a blogger tips group to connect with all my long last WordPress blogger friends, and to help all of us to learn from each other. I would love for you to share your knowledge in the group and connect with other bloggers. Here’s the link:
