Look up before you fall down!

You are beautiful. You are important. Stop looking at your feet. Nothing to see down there.

I used to walk looking down, not because I needed to watch my footsteps and know the direction that I was traveling in but because I was ashamed to look at and make eye contact with people. Crazy right but so true. I’ve noticed a change in that habit. I used to have the lowest self-esteem. It didn’t matter if I was at work, home or out and about I would always look down. Me looking down and walking was the norm for me. I hardly ever made eye contact with people. People would say I saw you at such and such but I would never remember because I was too busy looking at the floor. Honestly I can’t remember when I started noticing the change in my habit but I’m definitely glad that it changed.

Looking down has taught me to believe in myself. I never thought my self-esteem was that low but it definitely was.

Lessons With Looking Down:

  1. Nothing to see down there unless your shoe is untied.
  2. You can’t see what’s coming if your head is always down.
  3. Your smile is beautiful, but why are you looking down. Share your smile with other people.
  4. Most important thing: You do NOT have low self-esteem anymore. You are enough.
  5. Remember the 1st 4 things again and you will be more than fine.

Don’t get me wrong I still have things that I’m working on about myself but looking down is one that I have conquered. I don’t look down at my feet anymore and if I do it’s because something is going on with my feet.

Remember when I shared that I wanted to post things that had purpose, this is why because we as individuals need to grow and see that simple things as such can really mean something bigger than just looking down. Take notice at some of the simple things that you currently do and see if they relate to any other things that need to be changed. Hopefully I can share another post like this that is so simple yet so meaningful. Let’s bring in the new year with new positive habits. Stop looking down in hopes that something will pop up and show you how to love yourself again. Love yourself through all of the steps of the journey.

Here’s to new positive habits, attitudes, energy and outcomes for 2017. Let’s start the new year on a great note.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Until next post!

Shine bright and don’t forget to Find Your Light!
